What’s coming for the coming years

Early this year, I submitted two books ideas that I had in mind for a publisher. Because they are not my usual historical fiction ideas, I decided to submit to the publishers who have really turned out some wonderful books at the moment, Pen & Sword, with some very reputable authors, such as Annie whitehead, Amy Licence, Andrea Zuvich, Sharon Bennett Connolly, and Carol McGrath.

So I received confirmation yesterday that both my book submissions have been accepted and I am walking on air!

Book 1 will be on Harold Godwinson and will be published September next year.

Book 2 – Edmund Ironside will be the subject of this one and I do believe that there has not been a biography on his life written ever before. Publication will be in September 2024

Added to this I have also been commissioned to write a chapter for Iain Dale’s latest book Kings and Queens, also due for publication in 2023.

And also my WIP which is Wolf’s Bane, the third in the Sons of the Wolf series about the years leading up to the Norman Conquest of England, hopefully will be published in September 2022!

So exciting things coming for 2022

So, the Historical Writers Forum recently had their talk on Aelfgyva, the mysterious lady of the Bayeux Tapestry. After a sell-out night, we had a good turnout and a lot of fun. My fellow panellists were authors Patricia Bracewell, Carol McGrath, and Sharon Bennett Connolly hosted by Samantha Wilcoxson.

If you weren’t able to attend the evening, here is a link to the HWF YouTube Channel. Hopefully you guys will enjoy the debate and support me and my lady, Aelfgifu of Northampton as we fight it out amongst us!

So some recent news – The Wolf Banner was selected as a finalist in The Coffee Pot Book of The Year which was a great achievement. This is the second time a book of mine has been in the final when the first in the Sons of the Wolf series, Sons of the Wolf won an honourable mention in the Book of the Year award. The second thing, as you might or might not know, I am an active member and admin of the Historical Writers Forum, and we have been doing some exciting things recently like Zoom talks. And if you are a budding, or experienced historical fiction, fantasy, or non-fiction writer and would like to join our group, it does not cost a twig! Or a fig! Here are our Facebook and twitter links where you can join us on both sites.
